Do we live more than one life?

I have decided to change my question! Do we live more than one life? If so, what is it that carries us from one life to the next? Can we return as other living things, or just humans?

Thanks for your comments!

This might be slightly incorrect/irrelevant, but I know that people's tastes in music results from structural differences in the inner ear. Maybe the different ways people see things are caused by differences in the eye/cornea?

Wow, thats a tough question,....hummmm....not looking at it from a scientific point of view, i think that everyone sees things differently, but still similiarily. Think about this: You have a baby, you teach it the "wrong" colours. To that baby those colours are correct becasue those names are just labels. BUt when that baby grows up, everyone tells it that it has its colours mixed up, but thats only because its different labeling than the rest of the soceity. So, who exactly said that red is going to be called "Red"? Also, do I see a different red than you? Probably since we don't have the EXACT same eyes. But its still "
RED".

Ya i definatly agree with sara. For all we know the colour i see as red, is your blue. It is just what we are tought.

and there would be no way to explain how red is red so someone could be seeing blue

Part of mr wants to believe that we do live again. If so, I think that we could be other forms of life. I have noticed that different people show traits of other species, such as animals. I know that sounds rediculous, but in a sense, some people would reflect animals. For example, some people have natural swimming abilities, which could mean that they were some sort of water creature. Others might be particularly good at gymnastics, and could have been some sort of monkey. I know these things are genetic and come with personality and practice, but they could mean something. Also, some people, including myself, have claimed to have had strange memories they cannot recall taking place. I know that sounds a little weird, and could deffinately just be a damaged memory, deja vu, or something like that, but I do believe it could be true.

Wow, when I first read your question, I thought you meant at the same time. But I don't know if we live again. Some religions believe you come back as another creature, as a matter of fact in Buddism, I think you can come back as everything except a human, which is the opposite of what you were saying. Also, the Egyptians think that you come back in some sort of Afterlife, so not back to Earth, which is similar to the Christian belief in Heaven and Hell. It would be hard to find out for sure whether it happens or not, though.

i dont believe that we live again. Their is obviously no way i can prove my opninion i just believe that life is a gift not a right and i dont believe that one soul can live again.

well maybe i mean this relates back to all the philosophers and their views of the afterlife

i think that we all have luck but the amount of luck depends on the person's perspective of life. For example, if someone is happier in general, then they would have more luck just because they accept things as they are and if things happen in their favour, it is considered luck. I'll think about this more and comment on it later, maybe more clearly!

hmm, well this really relates back to fate. I think that if fate were to exist, then it almost would not be an issue, because things would either be one way or the other. If fate did not exist, then luck could be a factor. But what really is luck? With my previous isu question I looked at information about coincidences, and it represented quite a bit supporting them, considering the actual math involved. I think that potentially, there could be something spiritually there with luck, but dealing with the consequences ordeal, it swayed me to thinking that we do set ourselves up for this luck, and that by looking at the math you can see the answers.

I don't believe in luck, its just a series of coincidences that create what you call "luck". It is like flipping a coin, you have a 50 cent probability of flipping heads, and a 50 percent probability of flipping tails. If I flip a coin 100 times and I got 40 heads and 60 tails, it was just a mere coincidence, some may consider it luck, but if you flip the coin another 100 times, the chance that the data is even close to the first trial is quite low. I believe these can be explained by defined and still undefined scientific laws, there is a reason to explain mostly everything, but we may just not know why yet. It all comes down to quantum mechanics, and the probablity density function which is the density of a random variable as a function which describes the density of probablity at each point in the sample space. The math behind it all is extremely difficult, and there are still large sources of error with the theory. Maybe luck can be described as fate, by a higher power, God perhaps, and is bound to happen because of these unexplained forces that cause it to happen because of fate. If I was to roll a dice, maybe by fate it is destined to land on 6 at this roll, and maybe 3 on the next, and so on.

i dont really think there is such thing as luck. I think whatever happens happens and it wasnt up to "luck" or anything like that. The world works itself out in its own weird ways, and stuff that happens to you is always suppose to happen to you, luck or something like that had absolutly nothing to do with it.
