i think that fate exists to some extent but in some ways you have to create your own if that makes senses. The things you experience and the way you react to certain circumstances hellps to determine or change your fate.

Fate is the idea that everything, no matter how small, has an impact on everything that happens. I believe that fate exists, in a sense. I believe that many things can affect what happens. Small things as well and large things.

In what sense?
I'm implying that fate is when everything is predestined. In that case, would it exist in a sense, or not at all?

Hmmm...interesting question.....I think that fate exists to a person only and only of that person believes in it. Think of it this way, if I totally believe in fate and live my life by it, then yes fate does exist. but then lets say "Tim" (random name) does not believe in fate, he thinks whatever he does is because he wants to and everything happens just because and not because it was predestined. To Tim, fate does not exist. but is he just being ignorant ? I think that fate does exist, everything happens because it was meant to. A friend of mine said that he believed in fate to some extend, he said that there a path in life, but this path had many many different branches and roads, and so in a way people choose there own road, but it is all on the roads that fate has provided. I'll post some more thoughts later!

I have to agree with Sara. If you go on autopilot, its entirely possible that fate will have some control over you. I have to believe that we have some control over our own lives, but at the same time, I feel like things sometimes get away from me and I didn't really have control over it. On the other hand, If someone mapped out all of our lives for us, what was the point?? It makes everything sound like a rehearsed play for some higher power.

I dont really have any ideas on what our purpose really is... but i do believe that our purpose rules the way we live our life.

ourrrrr purpose....hum, i think our purpose to honestly just to live. We don't have one specific purpose, it is to be born, grow up, die...but inbetween we are just suppose to live our life the way we wish to live it.

i think that everyone has a certain purpose in life that they complete and when they do, they are ready to die. their purpose does not have to be a big thing, it could be as small as giving a homeless person food, which would lead to a series of events which would in the end have a greater purpose. also i think that we could have more then one purpose, like mulitple things that we have to do before we die, but these purposes don't have to be something that we know about, we complete them with out knowing it. but then you get into the whole fate thing and so on....
