In the physical sense, you can take a look at what mr.baker said today. He mentioned something about the connection between certain historical figure's actions and things invented today. Remember his reference to the tissue box? I can't quite remember his exact words but it seems to relate.

I agree with Deven -- in a bit of an obscure way, almost, the whole almost-six degrees of separation thing makes sense in this case. The whole one person's teachings leading to another, and then to another, then to the invention of the paper mill, and then to kleenex. So even if others are not effected directly at that moment, in the future, what you do or teach could affect millions of lives every day.

Another thing; you know how, when one person smiles, it seems to multiply? One person smiles at another in the hall, they smile back and smile at someone else, etc. etc. So in that way, at least, you may have an energy which will transmit to other people, even if you wouldn't exactly say that it's "radiating". Also, when someone happens to be in a good mood, they tend to smile, joke, and thereby put other people at ease, if not make them join in the laughter, which makes the good mood spread to the other person, usually.

Almost everyone does agree that the "Ripple Effect" / "Domino Effect" is real and plays a large role in many lives and sometimes in society. Maybe you could try to look for examples in the news or elsewhere that could relate to ...trends for example and how quickly people can follow them!

This reminds me of something from Sophie's World... When Sophie was wondering whether her entire life and the lives of those around her would be difference from the tiniest change; being given another name other than Sophie. So I guess that raises another question, KIND OF related to yours... If say, my mother's name was different, would her life have been different? Would she still be herself, and would I have even been born? It's funny how something so seemingly insignificant could potentially make such a huge difference in so many lives.

I believe this to also be true for your emotions. If you are feeling so good and walking around with a big smile on your face, i'm not sure your energy gets sent to everybody but it definately affects them. if i see someone smiling chances are i'll lighten up myself.

in another case, if we look at religion (certain ones that have a god/deity) could we not say that we are all connected through a higher power/deity?

entanglement, two objects, two electrons created together are entangled, send one to the other side of the universe, now do something to one, and the other responds instantly, so either information is travelling infinitly fast, or in reality they are still connected, they are intangled. So if everything were intangled at the moment of the "Big Bang", that means everything is still touching, space is just an illusion that there are seperate objects.

man i was reading Sophie's world and i learned about Democritus the last 'natural philosopher' and he thought up the atom theory about everyone being kinda connected by atoms. and that we share atoms 'a hydrogen atom in a cell at the end of my nose was once part of an elephants trunk." he also thought that we didn't have individual souls and that we had "soul atoms" which connected to our consciousness and they leave in different directions to form other souls once you die because you couldn't use your soul atoms after your brain disintegrates. His Atom theory would absolutely connect us physically , and through our souls.

personally i think that everything is connected, in every way. I have nothing to back that up, but it my personal opinion.
And I definitely think that you should look into the chaos theory more to find some possible answers :)

i think that we are all in a way connected, in a tonn of ways. like when mr baker was talking about how you can connect yourself with anyone. also the actions that you choose also result in consequences - a domino effect. i don't know about that souls being connected though - i'm still not sure if we even have.. souls. aaaas terrible as that sounds aha.

I think energy connects everything, possibly.

Does buying sweat-shop made clothes promote the idea of a sweat-shop? Sure, we say, "O no, sweat shops, what they are doing to those people is wrong and terrible!!" Then we go on with life. Society is a material 'make, buy, live" world and people will exploit that..forever. We are in a vicious cycle, that seems highly unlikely to change anytime soon. So do we do something about those sweat-shops in Mexico and China or are we at risk, putting someone out of a job, even though it doesn't seem like a job (to us).

So are we really connected by "the material goods"?
