maybe because when you look at the moon, you also see the stars, and realize how big space really is

so how big is space? is there a beginning and an ending? or is it like the MIB (Men In Black...for future references) thingy? could the string theory be true (one aspect--the idea that an entirley different world is living side-by-side with us but in a different dimension)?

how big is space? space is bigger than life, but what is life bigger than? it has been proved that we are a small part of one galaxy of our universe. are we alone?

Space is infinite. Although, in context with our known universe, it is said to be approximately 8.80x10^26m in diameter, according to wikipedia.

maybe because the sun always stays the same size, the moon itself grows and shrinks in size as it gets closer and farther away from out planet earth. Maybe we compair ourselves to the moon, growing and shrinking within ourselves.

I hate to interrupt your flow here, but has anyone else noticed how perversely fun it is to see what other people are thinking and comment on it? commenting on these things is awesome. a word on the moon, too, people used to associate fascination with the moon with insanity, possibly due to the second idea I have, which is that the moon was the central focus of pagan worship, possibly the christians were the reason it became lunacy to, as some of you put it, sympathize with the moon, paganism being blasphemous in the minds of the christians.

Have you guys ever wondered why we are born in our families? Have you ever imagined what it would be like if we were born into a different family?

I definitely have, I'm not gonna lie. But it always ends with the "If I was born in a different family, would that fundamentally change me as a person, and it makes me think that it would, so it doesn't matter to me, it would be a different person in that family. if that makes any sense . . . . .

Well, let's start it up again.
I asked this one before, but it was under the Random Thoughts link, and so no-one probably read it. So I'll reiterate:
What would our life be without writing/typing?

Hooray for tangents... We can still speak mind you. So would oral tradition become predominant? Would our memories improve? What else?
And I think people are vaguely psychic.
Zubie said

well..... i think that our memories would definately be much better....but we would have to learn everything orally and history and scienctific knowledge could be lost and stuff
Mark P said
at 12:44 pm on Apr 17, 2009
But would that be counteracted by our stronger memories? And what is history but the set of lies most commonly agreed upon?

if you had to pick a animal to be (if you could not be a human), what animal would it be?
Mark P said

Good question. I wanted to be a hummingbird at first, but then I changed my mind. It was a whale next. Then a lizard. Then a lungfish. Now I know I would be a giant squid. For sure.

that is actually quite interesting sebastien, you see, in New Brunswick there was a boy in my class, who's name was also Sebastien, he had fluffy hair that was quite light blonde, and so we nicknamed him "the Duck"... i just thought it was interesting that you both were associated with ducks in one way or another =) maybe it has something to do with New Brunswickers who are named Sebastien...
